Colwyn Bay will aim to extend their winning run to three matches when they host Barry Town in the Cymru Premier on Friday evening. The Seagulls, currently seventh in the table with 16 points from nine games, head into the fixture at Llanelian Road buoyed by a 5-0 demolition of Holywell last Saturday.
That result followed a 2-1 home win over GAP Connah's Quay. The side's recent form shows a capacity for high-scoring victories, having also beaten Llandudno 2-0, but also a vulnerability, as seen in a heavy 5-1 loss to leaders The New Saints in late August.
Barry Town arrive with their own attacking threat, having scored four goals in three of their last five outings. Their recent results include a 4-1 win over Llandudno and a 2-2 draw with Ammanford. The visitors' last starting lineup featured the likes of goalkeeper George Ratcliffe and forward Jordan Shaw.
For Colwyn Bay, the recent scoring burden has been shared. James Davies netted twice in the win at Holywell, with Matty Hill, Luke Sirrell and Jack Kenny also on target. In the previous victory over Connah's Quay, Davies and Sam Forde found the net after the visitors had taken an early lead. Manager Steve Evans will likely look to a settled defensive unit, which last featured the back four of Sam Hart, Sam Forde, Chris Bratley and Adam Davies in front of goalkeeper Matt Halstead.
The result could see Colwyn Bay climb the standings, where they sit just nine points off the top. Their next assignment after this is a home fixture against Cambrian & Clydach on 30 October.
